August 11^th - 2010 - Congratulations to Champion Marcarpents Rainbow's End, AKA Goldie, 12 years old today, August 11, 2010.
 

July 17^th - 2010 - The following is from an email we received about Gracie, L'il Orphan Annie's daughter.
 
Some water dogs are just naturals...
The heat was so bad I decided to swing by our little lake about 5 miles from home on the return trip. Dogs can't use the beach, but there's s spot on the far end of the lake at the boat ramp where folks bring their dogs. It was 95F and so humid, you could hardly breathe. Just awful.

As it turns out, Gracie had her very own personal water rescue session and she is totally unconcious at the foot of the stairs just now (8:30 AM). There was a family of 3 young boys between 8 and 12 whose older sister was watching them. When they saw Gracie they went nuts!! They knew quite a bit about Newfs and she barreled into the water and started rounding them up. It was hilarious. If they tried to swim out further, she was in full pursuit. She was trying to herd 3 kids at once back to shore, so I told them how to hold her and she'd tow them. They all had a fabulous time riding with the good ship Gracie!
 
Then their mom came back with their small chocolate Lab mix (about 50 lbs ) and Gracie and "Jack" chased sticks in the lake until they were both ready to drop. Jack had played earlier with a Spaniel, so he was quite tired and the mom was a little concerned but she again let him out of the car. Jack did not know what to make of Gracie. The funniest part was it seemed she didn't want him in the water either. We realized she was herding him as well as the kids and when he went on shore, she continually blocked his way back into the water, very gently, but she quite emphatically did NOT want him in the lake. By the end, Gracie's tongue was lolling out the side of her mouth like I've never seen it. But we all had a wonderful time and they were asking if she can come back again... Well, of course!!

Billett, son of Marcarpents Sweet Molly Malone and Marcarpents Nereus, who, at 15 years old, is now retired and his owner Don sent us this note and photos...
 
15 years 1 month old and still the center of attention.
Many years ago this nursing home was the first official visit Billet and I made after being certified by The Delta Society. Now that he is older than any of its residents we made a final visit as he enjoys his retirement.

December 26^th - 2009 - Billett, son of Marcarpents Sweet Molly Malone and Marcarpents Nereus, turns 15 and his owner Don sent us this letter and photos...
 
Hope everyone is having a great Holiday. We had a great Christmas here and the best part was Billet`s 15th birthday. He visited some old friends, stopped by his vet for some photos and then returned home for his fovorite pastime - laying on his deck until he is covered in snow so he can bring it inside.
